Northumberland OPP Recover Stolen Vehicle On Highway 401

NORTHUMBERLAND–On December 29 at approximately 5:38 a.m., the Northumberland OPP received a report of a possible stolen vehicle travelling eastbound towards Port Hope on Highway 401.

Officers located the vehicle and confirmed that it had been stolen. Police say they were able to bring the vehicle safely to a stop and conducted an arrest of the driver.

27-year-old Xavier Audate from Quebec was arrested and charged with Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
