KAWARTHA LAKES-Fire crews and the OPP are on the scene of a house fire on Elm Tree Road in Cambray tonight. It happened around 7:30 pm.
Witnesses say everyone made it out safely. Elm Tree Road South of Cambray Road is closed while firefighters battle the blaze.
This is the third fire and fourth home damaged by fire in the City in the last few days.
On December 16, 2023 at approximately 2:30 am, officers and City of Kawartha Lakes Fire and Rescue were sent to a house fire on Cedar Crescent near Janetville. A 62 year-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The OPP, the Ontario Fire Marshal and the Office of the Chief Coroner are investigating.
On Sunday, December 17th, 2023 at approximately 2:00 am, the Kawartha Lakes Police Service, along with Kawartha Lakes Fire and Rescue Services responded to a residential fire on Russell Street East in Lindsay.
When officers arrived, the house was fully engulfed in flames. A second home also sustained damage. Two people in the basement escaped and no physical injuries resulted from this incident. The fire has been deemed suspicious and police are investigating.Â
