Police Investigating After Human Remains Found In Bowmanville

DURHAM-Durham Regional Police are investigating after human remains were found in a wooded area on Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at approximately 4:30 a.m., members from East Division were searching a wooded area near Simpson Avenue and Baseline Road in Bowmanville fpn an unrelated matter according to police.  During this search they discovered the human remains.  The identity of the deceased is known to police however investigators are still in the process of notifying the next of kin.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled.  The Homicide Unit will continue to monitor the investigation until the cause of the death has been determined.
