KAWARTHA LAKES-A Community Consultation for a review of the catchment area for Parkview Public School on Adelaide Street North in Lindsay is scheduled for Thursday, November 30th.
Officials at Trillium Lakelands District School Board say a boundary review is conducted by the Board to analyze the attendance area for a school or group of schools due to changes in student enrolment, program demands, school capacity, new construction, or other factors.
You can learn more about this review and provide feedback at the community consultation meeting on Thursday, November 30, at 5:30 p.m. in the Lindsay Collegiate and Vocational Institute (LCVI) cafeteria.
Following this meeting, feedback provided will be taken into consideration and recommendations will be taken to the TLDSB Board of Trustees in January.
Other schools are also under review including schools that will be largely impacted by the current and proposed housing developments in the City of Lindsay.
“In TLDSB schools, we aim to provide all students with the best possible educational experience, and the school boundary review will help us to ensure we are able to continue supporting high-quality educational programming, student achievement, and well-being.” said Director of Education, Wes Hahn in a letter to parents.
The following Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) schools are under review:
- Alexandra Public School
- Central Senior School
- Fenelon Township Public School
- King Albert Public School
- Leslie Frost Public School
- Mariposa Elementary School
- Parkview Public School
- Queen Victoria Public School
Information about the review can be found on the Boundary Review page on the Board’s website. Once the review is complete, you will receive the details of the outcomes in a communication from your child’s school. Changes will begin September 2024.
