KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP conducted a search warrant early yesterday morning at a residence in Bobcaygeon which resulted in four persons being arrested and charged with drug trafficking.
At approximately 5:45 am on November 21, 2023, members of the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP Community Street Crimes Unit, Emergency Response Team and Central Region Tactics and Rescue Unit conducted a Controlled Drugs and Substances Search Warrant for a residence on Need Street in Bobcaygeon. As a result of the investigation, officers seized approximately 16 grams of Crack Cocaine, Percocet pills and over $2,000 in cash according to police.
The following four people were arrested and charged.
31-year-old Andrew Bancey, of Markham, has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 and Possession Schedule 1 Substance – Percocet.
Brandon Beatty, 35 years of age, of Bobcaygeon, has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.
65-year-old Cobey Black of Bobcaygeon has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000, Possession Schedule 1 Substance – Percocet and Breach of Probation.
Doug McRae, 59 years of age, of Bobcaygeon, has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
Three of the accused were held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay and released on account of a future court date. All four accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on December 14, 2023.
