Police Officer Bitten And Spit On While Responding To Call In Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-Police say a Kawartha Lakes Police officer was bitten and spit on while responding to a call on Saturday.

At approximately 4:00am Kawartha Lakes Police received a report of a window being broken on York Street North. Officers attended the area and located a suspect. During an investigation, the female spat on the officer and after being handcuffed the female bit the officer according to police. 

As a result of the investigation, police have charged a 28-year-old Lindsay woman with mischief under $5000 and assaulting a police officer. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on December 14, 2023.
