OPP Looking For Witnesses After Motorcycle Crashes Into House

PETERBOROUGH-Peterborough County OPP and emergency crews responded to a serious single-vehicle collision on Highway 7 just shortly after 6:30pm on November 5, 2023.

A homeowner called 911 reporting that a motorcycle had left the roadway, crossed their property, and struck their residence. Police say the homeowner came out to find the motorcycle and rider lying on the ground. A second motorcycle was reported to have been at the scene but left prior to police arrival.

Additionally, Peterborough County OPP says it received traffic complaints of two motorcycles travelling eastbound on Highway 7 at a high rate of speed a short time prior to the collision.

The 18-year-old driver sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver was later transported to a trauma centre.

Anyone who may have witnessed or has video/dash camera footage of the collision and has not spoken with police is asked to contact the Peterborough County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
