Lindsay Man Facing Assault And Weapons Charges After KLPS And OPP Tactics And Rescue Unit Execute Search Warrant At Housing Unit

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 40-year-old Lindsay man is facing multiple charges after a search warrant Wednesday afternoon. The suspect was out on bail at the time of the incident. 

Kawartha Lakes Police entered into an investigation regarding a housing unit takeover at a residence in the area of Bond Street and William Street North. Police say during the investigation, it was learned, the resident was being held against their will.

As a result of the investigation, officers from the Kawartha Lakes Police Service with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police Tactics and Rescue Unit conducted a search warrant at the residence. 

As a result: 

40-year-old Bradley Hicks, of Lindsay has been arrested and charged with:

  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Imitation Firearm – Use while committing offence
  • Forcible Confinement
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Uttering Threats – Cause death or bodily harm
  • Failure to comply with undertaking X3
  • Failure to comply with release order 

The accused was held for a bail hearing and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on November 2, 2023.
