UPDATE: This Is A Fatal Crash-Highway 7a Closed Near Bethany For Serious Crash

UPDATE:This is a fatal crash

KAWARTHA LAKES-The OPP is on the scene of a serious collision on Highway 7.

Officers are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision which occurred this morning at approximately 8:20 a.m. on Highway 7A West of Bethany.

Police along with fire and EMS were dispatched to the two-vehicle collision involving an eastbound car and a westbound transport truck on Highway 7A. The driver of the car, a 34-year-old male of Manvers Township, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Highway 7A was closed for several hours between Porter Road and Highway 35 while members trained in collision reconstruction measured and documented the scene. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.

Anyone who may have witnessed or has video/dash camera footage of the collision and has not spoken with police is asked to contact the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
