Impaired Driving Charges Laid After Pedestrian Hit

KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP arrested and charged a driver for driving and drug-related offences.

Officers were dispatched to a complaints of a driver who hit a pedestrian in a parking lot at a golf course and failed to remain on scene at approximately 4:30pm on October 5th. Shortly after that officers received additional traffic complaints regarding the same driver in Bobcaygeon.

Officers stopped the driver on County Road 8 where they were subsequently arrested and charged.

37-year-old Brad Denison of Stouffville has been charged with:

  • Dangerous Operation
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine
  • Failure to comply with release order

The accused has been remanded into custody and will be scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on a later date.

The pedestrian who was struck attended a local hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.
