OPP Investigating Fatal Farming Accident Near Downeyville

KAWARTHA LAKES-City of Kawartha Lakes OPP officers are investigating a death that occurred on a private property north of Downeyville last evening.

Shortly before 6:30 pm on Thursday officers along with EMS were called to a farm off of Sturgeon Road for an accident involving a tractor which had rolled onto someone. A 99 year-old male of Emily Township who had been working on the tractor at the time of the incident, was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Collision Reconstructionists were brought in to investigate and document the scene.
