Motorcycle Driver Facing Multiple Charges After Alert From Automated Licence Plate Recognition System

PETERBOROUGH-A member of the Peterborough County OPP conducted a traffic stop on a motorcycle on September 17, 2023, shortly after 2:00pm. Police say the Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system provided an alert of the motorcycle that was travelling on Highway 115. The officer conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver.

50-year-old Jose Ramos of Oshawa ON, has been charged with:

·      Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration-80 plus

·      Operation while Prohibited

·      Operation while Prohibited under the Criminal Code

·      Failure to comply with Release Order

The accused had their vehicle impounded for 45 days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on October 17, 2023.
