Fish Hawk Road Bridge Rehabilitation Project To Begin In July

KAWARTHA LAKES-The city says the rehabilitation of Fish Hawk Bridge is anticipated to start on July 4, 2023

The Corporation of the City of Kawartha Lakes has retained Bob Hendricksen Construction Ltd. to undertake the rehabilitation of the bridge located on Fish Hawk Road just west of Elm Tree Rd. Chisholm, Fleming and Associates will be assisting the City with oversight on this project.

Project Scope Includes:

  • Removal and protection of the utility conduct attached to the south fascia.
  • Removal of the concrete deck, including the deck slab, curbs and railings, girders, diaphragms, bearings, approach-wearing surface and ballast walls.
  • Construction of a new concrete deck and steel girders semi-integral with abutments.
  • Installation of new box beam railings and concrete end posts on the bridge, new approach slabs, waterproofing and paving of the bridge deck, repaving of the approaches and installation of new steel beam guide rail and end treatments.

This construction work is anticipated to start July 4, 2023. Fish Hawk Road will be closed at the construction site for the duration of the rehabilitation. Traffic will be detoured along Fenel Rd., Glenarm Rd and Elm Tree Rd.

Construction is anticipated to be completed by the winter of 2023.
