Two Recent Incidents Near Peterborough Sent To OPP Hate Crimes For Review

PETERBOROUGH-Police say two separate occurrences of Mischief involving words deemed to be racial in nature were reported to the Peterborough County OPP on May 2.

Both occurrences involved graffiti that included spray-painted words and took place at, or in close proximity to Squirrel Creek Conservation area but the exact timeframe in which these mischiefs occurred is not known. Police did not provide any information on what words the graffiti contained.

The investigation is ongoing and has been forwarded to the OPP Hate Crimes for review and input.

Investigators are actively looking for information that may lead to a suspect(s) in this case. Anyone with tips on this case can contact Peterborough County OPP at 705-742-0401, the non-emergency line 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
