UPDATE: Driver Located-Police Say No Ill Intent-Peterborough Police Issue Warning About Suspicious Woman In White Sedan

UPDATE: Police say officers have been in contact with the driver, the school and the student and have determined there was no ill intent.

PETERBOROUGH-Peterborough Police issued a warning to the public about an incident in the Royal Drive and Marina Boulevard area of Peterborough Tuesday morning.

At approximately 8:15 am on May 2, 2023, officers were called after a 10-year-old student reported that while they were walking to school (Edmison Heights Public School), they were approached by an unknown female in a car and offered a ride.  The child declined and told a trusted adult.

The woman in the vehicle was described to police as:

  • White
  • Female
  • Possibly in her 60’s
  • With short white/grey hair

The vehicle was described as:

  • A white sedan

Peterborough Police Service reminds residents to be aware and report any suspicious activity to police through 9-1-1 if it is an emergency, the non-emergency line at 705-876-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
