Special Weather Statement Issued For Heavy Rainfall

KAWARTHA LAKES-Environment Canada has issued a Special either Statement for heavy rainfall for our area.

Rain is expected throughout the weekend with total rainfall amounts of 40 to 70 mm expected tonight through Sunday night. Officials say the heaviest rainfall is expected Sunday afternoon through Sunday night with tain beginning tonight.

Heavy rain will begin Sunday afternoon and ending by Monday morning. Rain will begin tonight and then taper off to either light rain or chance of showers Sunday morning. Heavy rain is expected to move in Sunday afternoon and end by Monday morning.

Weekend rainfall totals of 40 to 70 mm could worsen the situation for sensitive areas. For information concerning flooding, please consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry office. Visit Ontario.ca/floods for the latest details.
