UPDATE:THE ROAD HAS REOPENED
KAWARTHA LAKES-Highway 35 remains closed in both directions as crews battle a large grass fire.
It started at approximately 4:30 this afternoon in the area of Country Lane and Highway 35. The road is closed from Country Lane to Powles Road.
There’s no word on what caused the fire or how much grass has burned.
There is a complete burn ban in the City of Kawartha Lakes until the end of April.
