Police Investigating After Window Shot Out of Vehicle On Highway 36 Narrowly Missing Passenger

KAWARTHA LAKES-The City Of Kawartha Lakes OPP is investigating after a vehicle had a window shot out on Highway 36.
Rob Howes says it happened at around 2 pm on Sunday March 26th between Pleasant Point Road and Kennedy Bay Road.  Howes was out on a Sunday drive with his wife and daughter. He says a bullet flew less than 12 inches from his daughter’s head.

The OPP says it is investigating.

“I can confirm that the OPP are investigating a firearms-related occurrence, the investigation remains ongoing and I cannot provide further details at this time, but will follow up once more information is available.” Constable Laura Newberry told Kawartha 411 News.

Howes says they found the culprits at a farm on Highway 36 where the shooters were target shooting with a variety of guns and were using metal targets. Police have not confirmed that.

“I’m still very unsettled and out of pocket. I believe there should be some accountability here and some decency here from the property owner to compensate my damages!” Howes told Kawartha 411.

He says he believes some of the solar panels at a solar farm nearby may also have been hit. No charges have been laid as of today.
