KAWARTHA LAKES-Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement warning of a risk of freezing rain in Kawartha Lakes tonight and into Wednesday morning.
Officials say a brief period of freezing rain could cause surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery overnight into Wednesday morning. Rain is expected to move into the region overnight or Wednesday morning with temperatures expected to fall to near the freezing mark, a brief period of freezing rain is possible.
Temperatures should rise well above the freezing mark as the morning progresses. The area is being monitored for a potential freezing rain warning.
