Fuel Spill Cleanup Underway On Sturgeon Lake

KAWARTHA LAKES-Crews from GFL Environmental Marine Response Unit, The City Of Kawartha Lakes and the Ministry of the Environment are on the scene of a fuel spill into Sturgeon Lake near DunSford. It’s unclear what the type of fuel is or how much has gone into the lake but it was first detected on Friday. There is a very strong odour in the vicinity of the spill. We have reached out to the Ministry for more information but have not yet heard back.
