KAWARTHA LAKE-A 48-year-old Lindsay man is facing charges after a lost wallet was returned without the cash inside.
On Monday, March 6, 2023, the Kawartha Lakes Police were contacted by a complainant who reported they had dropped their wallet in a parking lot in the area of James Street and Mary Street West in Lindsay. The wallet had since been returned; however, a quantity of cash was missing according to police.
With the assistance of video surveillance officers were able to identify the suspect who was located and arrested.
As a result of this investigation, a Lindsay man has been charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.
The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on April 13, 2023.
