KAWARTHA LAKESA 43-year-old Courtice man is facing charges after a Lindsay business reported a shoplifter.
The Kawartha Lakes Police Service received complaints on Thursday from two Kent Street West businesses reporting a shoplifter. While attending the first location, police say they received a second call reporting a theft, by a male fitting the same description.
Officers responded the area and located and arrested the suspect for theft.
According to police at the time of his arrest, the accused was found in possession of stolen property and drugs.
As a result of the investigation, a 43-year-old Courtice male has been charged with theft under $5000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 and possession of a schedule I substance. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on March 30, 2023.Â
KLPS no longer releases the names of people charged with theft or drug possession.
