Kawartha Lakes Under Freezing Drizzle Advisory

KAWARTHA LAKES-Environment Canada has issued a Freezing Drizzle Advisory for our area.

Freezing drizzle advisory in effect for:

  • Lindsay – Southern Kawartha Lakes
  • Peterborough City – Lakefield – Southern Peterborough County

Areas of freezing drizzle continuing now and into this evening.

Periods of freezing drizzle, at times mixed with ice pellets, are expected. Any freezing drizzle is forecast to come to an end this evening.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Freezing drizzle can produce thin, hard-to-detect layers of ice. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.

Freezing drizzle advisories are issued when drizzle falling in sub-zero temperatures is expected to freeze on contact, and over time create icy surfaces.
