Two People Charged After Stolen UTV Gets Stuck In The Snow

KAWARTHA LAKES-Bancroft OPP officers have arrested two people following a single-vehicle collision involving a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV), in Hastings Highlands.

Bancroft OPP attended Anaf Road, Hastings Highlands and investigation revealed the UTV was stolen on January 3, 2022. One person was arrested at the collision scene and a search of the area was conducted with assistance from the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP Canine Unit. As a result of the search, a second person was located and arrested according to police.

Ashley RALLISON, 35-years-old from Bancroft and Constance EDWARDS, 40-years-old from Hastings Highlands have been charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) offences:

• Possession of Methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking;

• Possession of Fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking;

• Possession of Cocaine for the purpose of trafficking; and

• Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.

The accused were both released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario court of Justice in Bancroft on February 14, 2023.
