Special Weather Statement In Effect For Kawartha Lakes And Peterborough

KAWARTHA LAKES-A Special Weather Statement remains in effect for parts of Kawartha Lakes and Peterborough.

Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Lindsay – Southern Kawartha Lakes
  • Peterborough City – Lakefield – Southern Peterborough County

Strong westerly winds gusting up to 70 or 80 km/h are expected this afternoon into tonight in the wake of a strong cold front. Winds are expected to ease from west to east later tonight.

The strongest winds are expected near the shores of Lake Ontario where wind gusts up to 90 km/h may occur. Strong winds may toss loose objects and cause tree branches to break. Isolated utility outages may occur.
