Driver And Passenger Arrested After Crash, Police Cruiser Damaged

KAWARTHA LAKES-City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a driver and their passenger after failing to remain at the scene of a collision and damaging a police cruiser.

Shortly after noon on October 21, 2022 officers were dispatched to fail to remain collision downtown Fenelon Falls. Officers located the vehicle which subsequently backed up into a police cruiser according to police. No one was injured in either collision.

The 36-year-old male driver was charged with;

  • Fail to Remain,
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container or liquor
  • Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date at Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay.

The passenger was given an Offence notice LLCA 41(1) HAVING LIQUOR IN OPEN CONTAINER IN UNAUTHORIZED PLACE, Offence notice LLCA 31(1)(a) BEING INTOXICATED IN PUBLIC PLACE.
