City Mourns Passing Of Former Victoria County Warden David Murray

KAWARTHA LAKES-David Murray, former Warden of Victoria County, passed away
peacefully in his home on Friday October 7, 2022.

Officials say Murray was a community-driven man who was involved in many local committees and boards throughout his life. Before his time as the Warden of Victoria County in 1978, he served as Councillor, Deputy Reeve and Reeve of Fenelon Township from 1969 to 1997. In his time with Victoria County, Murray was instrumental in the planning of the 1987 addition and renovation of the County Administration Building, City Hall as we know it today.

He was also a key contributor to the planning of the Victoria Manor Home for the Aged a few years later. Murray had a strong interest in the transportation and public works sectors and was involved in the Ontario Good Roads Association (OGRA) for several years.

The flag at City Hall in Lindsay has been lowered to half-mast in his honour.
