Two People Charged With Impaired Driving After Concerned Citizens Call Police

KAWARTHA LAKES-Two Lindsay residents are facing impaired driving charges after concerned citizens call police.

On October 4, 2022 at 11:50 am the Kawartha Lakes Police received a report from a concerned citizen about a vehicle being operated by a possible impaired driver. According to police, the caller came upon the vehicle parked in the middle Vince Jones Road, finding driver asleep behind the wheel and when awoken, the driver started driving and nearly swerved into the caller.

Officers located the alleged vehicle and after conducting an investigation the driver was arrested. 38-year-old Matthew Scriver of Lindsay has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and two Highway Traffic Act infractions. 

Police received a report from a concerned citizen about a vehicle being operated by a possible impaired driver in the area of Colborne Street West and St Joseph Road on October 5, 2022 at 12:46 am.

Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Cambridge Street in Lindsay. 25-year-old Edward Baker of Lindsay has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus and fail to comply with probation order. 

Both will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on November 10, 2022.
