Two Charged In July Homicide In Peterborough, Canada Wide Warrant Issued For A Third Suspect

PETERBOROUGH-Two people have been arrested in connection with a homicide on July 2, 2022, and a Canada-wide warrant has been issued for a third person.

Peterborough Police were called to the Park Street North and Sherbrooke Street area after reports that a person had been shot. Upon arrival, officers located the victim and administered CPR before they were taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre. The 37-year-old man succumbed to the injuries received in the shooting.

Police continue to search for 34-year-old Eduardo Tito Silva of Barrie on a Canada-wide warrant in connection with the homicide of Shawn Singh of Peterborough.

27-year-old Jack Monine of Peterborough was arrested during the execution of a search warrant on Friday, September 9, 2022, and charged with:

  • Second degree murder
  • Accessory after the fact to murder
  • Fail to comply with probation

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on Saturday, September 10, 2022.

35-year-old Rebecca Silva of Toronto was arrested during the execution of a search warrant on Thursday, September 8, 2022, and charged with:

  • Manslaughter with a firearm
  • Accessory after the fact to murder

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on Thursday, September 8, 2022.

“The safety of the residents in our community is the number one priority of the Peterborough Police Service and we understand that safety is also a concern in our community.  This has been a very active investigation for Peterborough Police over the past number of months and we thank the public for their patience over the course of the investigation,” said Peterborough Police.
