KAWARTHA LAKES-Seven days after a crash closed the bridge on Monck Road in Sebright, the City is notifying the public of the incident.
“Please be advised that CKL 45 (Monck Rd) from Victoria Rd West to Kirkfield Rd CKL 6, east of Sebright, is temporarily closed due to damage caused to the bridge by a motor vehicle accident that took place August 18, 2022.” said a release from the City today.

Officials say staff are working with a consulting engineer and contractors to open the road as soon as possible.
“The guiderail was damaged at 3 out of 4 approaches and the barrier wall on the bridge was damaged on both sides. The road should re-open next week.” Bryan Reid, Communications, CKL told Kawartha 411 News.
In the meantime, the following detours are available:
- If motorists are traveling east on CKL 45 the detour is: From CKL 45 head south on Kirkfield Rd, east on Mcnamee Rd, north on Victoria Rd to Monck Rd (CKL 45).
- If motorists are traveling west on CKL 45 the detour is: From CKL 45 head south on Victoria Rd, west on Mcnamee Rd, north on Kirkfield Rd to Monck Rd (CKL 45).
