Two Drivers Charged With Impaired In One Hour During RIDE Enforcement In Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-Two local residents are facing impaired driving charges after a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) enforcement conducted by Kawartha Lakes Police Service.

At 5:13pm on August 1, police conducted a traffic stop on a pickup truck travelling on Russell St E in the Town of Lindsay.  The male driver was investigated and the officer formed grounds to believe that he was impaired by alcohol and placed him under arrest.  Police say further investigation revealed that the driver,  47-year-old Paul O’Loughlin of Lindsay was over the legal limit. He was charged with Adult Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and Adult Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus.

Shortly after that, at 6:16pm officers investigated the driver of a pickup truck on Kent St W near Cambridge St S.  The driver, 46-year-old Ian Christiensen of Lindsay was given a Roadside Screening device. The result of this was a “Fail” and the driver charged with Adult Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus.

Both accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on September 8th 2022.
