Impaired Driving Charge Laid After Police Allegedly Observe Vehicle Weaving Across The Centre Line

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 34-year-old Bethany man is facing a charge of impaired driving after being stopped by police.

While on patrol a Kawartha Lakes Police officer observed a vehicle with improper lighting equipment on Sunday July 17 at 4:00AM.

The officer followed the vehicle travelling eastbound on Mount Horeb Road. According to police the vehicle was travelling at inconsistent speeds and weaving across the centre line and off the roadway. The vehicle was stopped and as a result of an investigation the driver, 34-year-old Marcus Elliott of Bethany was arrested and charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and one Highway Traffic Act infraction.

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on August 25, 2022.
