Arrest Made In Theft From Motor Vehicle In Bobcaygeon

KAWARTHA LAKES-One person has been arrested and chargedĀ in connection to a theft from a motor vehicle in Bobcaygeon.

On June 17th officers received a report of a theft from a motor vehicle which had occurred earlier that day in Bobcaygeon. Police say officers reviewed security footage and identified the suspect.

As a result of the investigation 58-year-old Douglas McRae of Bobcaygeon has been charged with;

  • Trespassing at Night
  • Theft Under $5,000 from a Motor Vehicle

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on June 28, 2022.

Ā·Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Keep your registration and proof of insurance in your wallet or purse, not in the glove box

Ā·Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Pocket your keys

Ā·Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā At night or during extended parking periods, always park in a well-lit area.

10.Ā Ā Easy access to the trunk from the vehicle cab

Remember to call the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP at 1-888-310-1122 to report suspicious activity as you see it, and or to report any thefts after the fact where there is no security footage/identifiable suspects consider using the online reporting system at: opp.ca/reporting
