PETERBOROUGH-Three Oshawa men are facing charges after an incident early Friday morning resulted in officers finding a loaded handgun.
At approximately 1:15am on April 29, 2022, officers were called to a residence in the Brock Street and Aylmer Street area about suspicious activity.
Police say upon arrival, officers observed four males exiting the building, matching the descriptions provided to police, and initiated a gunpoint arrest. One male fled on foot and despite a search of the area was not located while three others were brought into custody without incident according to police.
During the arrest officers located and seized:
- Loaded handgun
- Cocaine – 27.6 grams
- Crystal Meth – 40.8 grams
- Fentanyl – 47.4 grams
- Canadian currency
Police also located and seized a vehicle connected to the suspects.
As a result of the investigation,
A 20-year-old Oshawa man was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Careless Use of Firearm
- Carrying concealed weapon
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs X3
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada
A 23-year-old Oshawa man was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Careless Use of Firearm
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs X3
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada
A 23-year-old Oshawa man was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Careless Use of Firearm
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs X3
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada
The accused were held in custody and will appear in court today, Friday, April 29, 2022.
