Power Outages Possible With Strong Winds Expected This Afternoon

KAWARTHA LAKES-Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statment for our area.

Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Lindsay – Southern Kawartha Lakes
  • Peterborough City – Lakefield – Southern Peterborough County

Strong winds are expected this afternoon.

Strong southwest winds gusting up to 80 km/h are forecast to develop late this morning. These strong winds will continue through the afternoon before weakening this evening.

Some damage to tree branches may occur as well as local power outages according to Environment Canada.
