Woman Charged After Gunpoint Arrest During Break And Enter In Peterborough

PETERBOROUGH-A 31-year-ol Peterborough woman is facing charges after being arrested at gunpoint during an alleged break and enter in Peterborough.

Just before 9:00pm on December 15, 2021, Peterborough Police officers were called to a break and enter in progress at a business in the George Street and Westcott Street area.  Upon arrival, officers could hear someone inside and initiated a gunpoint arrest according to police.  The accused complied and was taken into custody without incident.

Police say during the arrest it was learned that the accused was wanted on two warrants for several incidents including fraud, break and enter and bail violations.

As a result, 31-year-old Ashleigh Cavanagh of Peterborough was arrested on the warrants and also charged with Break and Enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence.
