Special Weather Statement Issued For Kawartha Lakes And Peterborough

KAWARTHA LAKES-Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for our region.

Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Lindsay – Southern Kawartha Lakes
  • Peterborough City – Lakefield – Southern Peterborough County

Officials say there will be periods of rain beginning early Monday morning may create hazardous driving conditions. Wet conditions and reduced visibility from rain may make travelling difficult.

Total rainfall amounts of 25 to 40 mm are possible by Monday night according to EC.
Localized flooding in low lying areas is possible.

When safe to do so, ensure storm drains are clear of leaves and debris to minimize flooding.

This rainfall is due to a low pressure system that is forecast to track northeast across southern Ontario on Monday.
