Sudbury Man Charged With Trafficking Firearms In Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-A Sudbury man has been charged with trafficking firearms in the Lindsay area.

Kawartha Lakes Police say on Saturday September 25, 2021, at 5:29a.m., officers received a call reporting a suspicious person walking on Lindsay Street South in Lindsay. Further information was received that the male had allegedly stolen firearms from a residence on Lindsay Street South in Lindsay. Police located the male and through investigation learned he had stolen and sold multiple firearms resulting in his arrest according to police.

48-year-old Robert Roy of Sudbury is charged with trafficking in firearm, weapon, device or ammunition, theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.  The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on October 28, 2021.

Police say they have recovered the stolen firearms.
