Impaired Driving Charge Laid After Crash

KAWARTHA LAKES-An Omemee woman is facing impaired driving charges after a crash on Lindsay Street.

Police say on Saturday September 25, 2021, at 2:06a.m., Kawartha Lakes police officers on patrol heard a loud crash just before receiving a call, reporting a motor vehicle collision in Lindsay. The caller reported, a driver involved in the collision had fled the scene on foot.

Police say officers arrived on scene to find an unoccupied vehicle. After an investigation, the alleged driver was located hiding in a yard on Ridout Street. While speaking with the female, officers observed signs of impairment and placed her under arrest according to police.   

20-year-old Serena Quinlan of Omemee is charged with failure to stop after accident, operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on October 28, 2021.
