Two Oshawa Men Facing Firearms Charges After Report Of Man Carrying A Gun In Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-Two Oshawa men are facing weapons charges after Kawartha Lakes Police responded to Devan Court in Lindsay for a call of a suspicious person on Friday September 3, 2021 at 6:31pm.

Police responded after a vehicle had entered Devan Court, a male in the vehicle had reportedly been seen in the area earlier in the day, and was witnessed carrying what was believed to be a firearm. Officers located the alleged vehicle on Hamilton Street and arrested the occupants. 21-year-old Jamal Blair-Henningham and 19-year-old Elijah Watts-Scharshmidt both of Oshawa are charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, unauthorized possession of weapon.

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on October 14, 2021.
