Kawartha Lakes Police Arrest Shoplifter In Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES – The Kawartha Lakes Police have arrested a female shoplifter.

On Thursday September 2, at 1:20 p.m, the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service were called to a Kent Street West business for a shoplifter.

According to police, store staff witnessed a female as she selected a number of items, concealing them in her purse before attempting to exit the store with no attempt to pay.

Officials say she was stopped by staff until police arrived and placed her under arrest. According to police, at the time of her arrest she was wanted on a warrant held by the Kawartha Lakes Police Service.

Officials say April Pearsell, 41, is charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on September 3, 2021.
