Boil Water Notice Issued For Southview Estates Water System

KAWARTHA LAKES-The Ontario Clean Water Agency has issued a boil water advisory for residents using water from the Southview Estates Water System near Cameron.

The notice was hand-delivered to residents today. The advisory is due to an “adverse water quality sample” although no other details were provided.

The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit advises residents to boil water for at least one minute when using it for drinking, cooking, making baby food, formula, washing fruit and vegetables and making ice etc. Adults may shower using the untreated water as long as none is swallowed. Adults or young children should sponge bath using a clean supply of water instead of using tub baths.

The OCWA will be taking further samples and advise when the water is suitable for consumption.
