Farmer Charged After Hay Bales Rolled Onto Highway 36

KAWARTHA LAKES-A farmer is facing charges after round bales of straw rolled off his trailer and onto Highway 36 near Dunsford.

Police say the farmer was moving hay from one farm to the next when the load shifted and the bales rolled off his trailer onto the road.

There was a collision when a vehicle had to turn out to the right to avoid the bales and struck a curb along Highway 36 at Steeles Line according to police

The farmer was charged with insecure load under the Highway Traffic Act. The farmer stayed at the scene and removed all the straw from the area without problems.
