Jury Selection Starts Today In Trial Of Little Britain Man Accused Of Killing Heeley Rae Balanga

KAWARTHA LAKES- Jury selection starts today in the trial of Ross Dion of Little Britain.

On May 29th, 2018 officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP responded to a fire on Aino Beach Road near Little Britain, where fire crews had found a deceased woman at the residence. She was later identified as 35-year-old, Heeley Rae Balanga.

46-year-old Dion was charged with first-degree murder and arson-disregard for human life on June 2, 2018.

The trial had been expected to begin in a Lindsay courtroom in November 2020 but was delayed due to the pandemic.

Once jury selection is complete and the trial begins Kawartha 411 will be in the courtroom to bring you the details.
