KAWARTHA LAKES-A Little Britain man has been charged with first degree murder in the death of a woman on Aino Beach Road.
On May 29th officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP responded to a fire on Aino Beach Road where fire crews had found a deceased woman at the residence. She was later identified as 35 year old, Heeley Rae Balanga.
Police say through investigation, yesterday, June 2, 2018, 44 year old Ross Ronald DION, of Little Britain was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Â First Degree Murder contrary to section 235(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
- Arson – Disregard for Human Life contrary to section 433(a) CCC
The accused has been remanded into custody and will next appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on June 7, 2018.
