Drug Charges Laid After Vehicle Pulled Over For Speeding

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 27 year old Lindsay man is facing drug charges after being pulled over for speeding.

Police say on Monday June 28, 2021 at 10:50pm, the Kawartha Lakes Police were conducting traffic enforcement on Pigeon Lake Road. An officer stopped a vehicle for travelling over the posted speeding limit according to police.

While speaking with the driver, the officer recognized a passenger in the vehicle who was allegedly known to be on conditions not to have contact with another passenger in the vehicle.

27-year-old Lincoln Fortier of Lindsay was placed under arrest, at the time of his arrest found in possession of a controlled substance. Fortier is charged with failure to comply with undertaking and possession of a schedule I substance.

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on July 22, 2021.
