Two People Charged After Thefts From Vehicles

KAWARTHA LAKES-Two people are facing charges after thefts from vehicles in Lindsay.

Police say on Monday May 17, 2021 at 7:05am the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service received multiple calls reporting a male and female checking car doors in the area of Mill Street and Russell Street in Lindsay.

Officers responded to the area, located and arrested the alleged suspects. 36-year-old Julie Mitton is charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 X2. 57-year-old Dustie Upton is charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.

Both accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on June 24, 2021.
