Woods Of Manilla Municipal Drinking Water System Fix Has Failed, New Well To Be Constructed

KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes is notifying residents being supplied drinking water from the Woods of Manilla municipal drinking water system, that the production well for this drinking water system has failed and attempts to repair the issue have not been successful. The municipality is working with the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks and a well contractor to drill and connect a new production well. It is expected that the well contractor will be mobilizing in the next one to two weeks.

In the meantime, the well remains out of service and we continue to haul potable water from the Lindsay drinking water system to the Manilla drinking water system to ensure that residents continue to be provided safe drinking water. Water continues to be monitored and tested as per all regulatory requirements according to the City.

While the new well is being constructed, supply remains dependent upon hauled water so residents are being asked to practice conservation measures and use water for essential uses only. Please hold off on recreational uses such as  pool filling, lawn watering and car washing.
