OPP Looking To Identify “Suspicious” Person In The Oakwood Area

KAWARTHA LAKES-The Major Crime Unit (MCU) of the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is seeking the public’s assistance to identify a vehicle and the person operating it.

Police say on April 10, 2021 officers were called to a residence in the Oakwood area in response to a suspicious vehicle. Initial investigation indicated that a vehicle had pulled into the residential driveway and the driver exited the vehicle to engage in conversation with a youth whom was standing outside the residence.

The vehicle is described as a newer model four door hatchback sedan, sky blue in colour. The driver is described as a Caucasian male, approximately six feet tall with a medium build, mid 20’s in age, with long, dyed red hair. At the time of the incident the driver was wearing a surgical mask, blue sweater and blue jeans.

The OPP reminds all members of the public to be aware of their personal safety and that of children at all times. Children should not be left unattended anywhere, for any length of time, when out in public. The OPP’s website, www.opp.ca contains a number of useful resources, tips and links.
