Reports Of An Erratic Driver Leads To Impaired Driving Charges

KAWARTHA LAKES-On March 31, 2021 at 8:43pm City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service received a report of an erratic driver on Highway 35 heading southbound towards Lindsay. It was believed that the vehicle was being operated by an impaired driver.

An officer located and stopped the vehicle in the area of Highway 35 and Kent Street West. The officer determined the driver was impaired by alcohol and placed under arrest according to police.

59-year-old Peter Price of Little Britain has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus and operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code.

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on May 13, 2021.

“Despite the best efforts of our officers, they can’t be everywhere at one time.” Sgt Deb Hagarty said in a press release. “That is why receiving tips from the public about impaired drivers is so crucial to helping the Kawartha Lakes Police Service keep local roads safe for motorists and pedestrians. If you suspect you see an impaired driver, please let us know by calling 9-1-1.”
